Are some of your favorite music tracks saved in WMA format? While you probably have no problem playing them on PCs with Windows installed, the WMA format is not that universal on other platforms and you could have problems when you try to transfer your music to your smartphone, tablet, or MP3 player.
To get around it, all you need to do is convert your WMA music files to MP3 instead. That way you should have no issues whatsoever since MP3 is almost universally recognized. Honestly, it isn’t even that difficult to convert WMA to MP3 – provided you have software such as the Movavi Video Converter for Windows at your disposal.
Converting WMA to MP3 using the software is really simple. All you need to do is:
1. Add the WMA files that you want to convert by clicking the ‘Add Audio’ button located in the top left corner of the software’s interface and selecting the files that you want to convert. Because the software supports batch conversions, you can add as many files you want and convert them together.
2. Open the ‘Convert to’ list near the bottom and click ‘Video and Audio formats’ and scroll down till you find the ‘MP3 (Audio only) group of presets. Choose the one that is most applicable based on the bitrate – but remember that the higher the bitrate the larger the file size. If you aren’t sure which to choose, 192 or 256 should be fine.
3. Select the destination folder where you’d like the converted MP3 files to be placed.
4. Click ‘Convert’ to start the conversion process.
In a short while you’ll find that all the WMA files that you wanted to convert are now saved as MP3 files in the destination folder that you selected. The same process can be used to convert your WMA files to WAV, AAC, OGG and most other popular formats too – so keep that in mind in case you ever find that you need to do so.
